Editorial nature of the reference site

The reference site exists to help commercial clients and their teams orient themselves around common ScotiaConnect workflows. Pages describe typical behaviour: typical cut-offs, typical delivery windows, typical approval patterns. Actual behaviour on a specific production profile may differ based on the client's contract, tier and configuration. Where a reference-site statement conflicts with onboarding documentation, the onboarding documentation prevails.

Nothing on the reference site constitutes financial advice, legal advice or tax advice. Treasury teams, controllers and signatories should consult their own advisors before acting on information that materially affects business operations.

Trademark and intellectual property

ScotiaConnect, Scotia Connect and related marks are the property of their respective owners. Use of those marks on the reference site is nominative and descriptive, for the purpose of referring to the commercial banking portal the reference site documents. Nothing on the site should be read as a claim of ownership over marks belonging to the issuing bank or to any third party.

Original content on the reference site, including written text, layout and illustrations not attributed to third parties, is copyright the reference site operator. Short quotations with attribution are permitted under fair-dealing principles; reproduction of substantial portions requires written permission.

Acceptable use

Acceptable use of the reference site includes reading, linking, quoting with attribution, and sharing pages with colleagues and partners. Unacceptable use includes automated scraping at a rate that disrupts service, republishing the reference site as a mirror, framing the site inside another site without clear attribution, and attempting to gain unauthorized access to any administrative interface. Repeat or sustained unacceptable use may lead to blocking at the network edge.

Linking policy

Deep links to any page on the reference site are welcome. Link text should make the informational nature of the reference site clear when context leaves room for confusion with an authenticated banking portal. Linking from sites that promote fraudulent activity, impersonation or misrepresentation is not permitted and will be treated as a violation of these terms.

Disclaimer of warranties

The reference site is provided on an "as-is" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. The reference site operator does not warrant that content is complete, current or error-free, nor that the site will be uninterrupted or free of defects. Content is updated as time and resources allow; readers are responsible for confirming any detail that materially affects a decision.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the reference site operator is not liable for any indirect, consequential or special damages arising out of the use of, or inability to use, the site. This limitation applies even where the operator has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow this limitation; in those jurisdictions, liability is limited to the minimum extent permitted.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute arising from these terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, unless applicable consumer-protection law gives the visitor a right to bring proceedings in another jurisdiction.
